The publications department is responsible for producing various printed matter related to the convention. The majority of this deadline-oriented work is done in the months before the convention takes place.
The publications department includes staff members with experience in desktop publishing, editing, creating themed artwork, and graphic design. Typical items produced by the publications department may include:
- Convention booklet (conbook)
- Pocket program
- Local dining guide/maps
- Advertising flyers (to be left on other conventions freebie table)
- Administrative forms
- Press kits/press badges
The publications department may also produce advertising to be used in other publications.
