Pet

Pet is the affectionate form of physical human contact which consists in softly running, stroking, brushing or caressing over a part (or parts) of somebody else's body, normally for mutual enjoyment. Petting between furs can be friendly, intimate or sexual, in the latter the term often has a charged connotation ("heavy petting.") As with other forms of furry personal greeting, it's considered bad form to try this on strangers, or those not comfortable with the idea or the act.

Pet also refers to the status of a furry with an owner, similar to a master-slave relationship.
