Mwalimu

Joe McCauley (aka mwalimu, b. Sept. 16, 1959) is a resident of Normal, Illinois. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Computer Science. He is divorced and has three children.

mwalimu became involved in The Lion King fandom in late 1995 and remained active in that fandom for about three years before his interest evolved into furry fandom in general. It is for that reason that he considered himself a lion character for a long time. More recently he has shifted toward being a non-specific feline though he continues to be represented as a lion on avatars and conbadges.

His primary areas of interest are reading and writing of furry literature. His writings include works of Lion King fanfiction, SabrinaVerse stories, and original works. A couple of nights per week he is a DJ on KWKAT PlanetFurry Radio, hosting a show entitled "The Lion's Share". He has also dabbled in puppetry and furry Christian spirituality, and is moderator of the catholicfurs LiveJournal community.
