Furry Fiesta

Furry Fiesta is a furry convention planned to be held in Dallas, Texas, USA from February 20-22, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. As of April 20, 2008 the contract with the hotel has been signed, the Dallas Regional Anthropomorphic Meeting Association (DRAMA) has been formed as a non-profit governing organization and a full convention staff has been assembled.
Istanbul is currently serving as convention chairman for the first year. Kaffa Wolf has returned to the project to provide financial support and act as primary webmaster.
The Guest of Honor for the first convention is Nexxus.
The Artist Guest of Honor for the first convention is Tiffany Ross.
The Musical Guests of Honor for the first convention are Sub Level 03. [1]

The name's initial usage was for a con chaired by Exodite Dragon, with Kaffa Wolf providing financial and logistical support as director of operations. Several deadlines during the course of the event's initial planning were either met late or missed altogether due to conflicts with both Exodite's collegiate coursework and Kaffa's increased workload. After his departure from the project, Kaffa was replaced by Evol, a former Rocket City Fur Meet staffer.
In January 2007, Exodite Dragon and Evol sought additional volunteers to aid in the relaunch of Furry Fiesta. An official post in the con's LiveJournal community listed available staff positions. No serious applicants put in for any of the positions. The con was initially planned for September 2007, and was then rescheduled to 2008, but - citing a lack of funding and local interest - Exodite withdrew his support in April 2007, postponed it indefinitely, and released the name for use.[citation needed]
Furry Fiesta was slated to return, but as a meet lead by Marthaen rather than a convention. It was scheduled for Fiesta week[2] in San Antonio, TX. On Monday, April 7 2008, this event was cancelled due to medical bills incurred by Marthaen. Marthaen later agreed to allow Dallas Regional Anthropomorphic Meeting Association to use the Furry Fiesta name.
